Jon Sargent
The most useful thing about me is that I didn’t come up the way you’d expect — and that’s exactly why I catch what the conventional path walks right past. I learned to run a business in professional kitchens. Dish pit at fourteen, executive chef in my twenties. People underestimate that classroom. A kitchen is a high-pressure operation with brutal margins where excellence is a system and the team is everything — and it turned out to be the finest education I could have asked for. So when a back injury ended that career, I didn’t go looking for a softer version of it. I taught myself an entirely new trade — commercial access control systems, the infrastructure that moves people through cities, airports, and venues — and founded On Spot Solutions in 2019. Today I’m building ATLAS to preserve the hard-earned tribal knowledge of the trades and pass it on to the next generation of field service professionals. I’ve spent my whole life being told no by the institutions that were supposed to open doors for me — and getting in anyway. That’s not a chip on my shoulder. It’s a skill. I’ve called Revere home for more than a decade, and I chose it on purpose — a city bold enough to give America its first public beach, built on the then-radical notion that something that good shouldn’t be fenced off for the few, but open to everyone. That’s the spirit that drew me here, and it’s the one I’ve lived by all along: tell me a door is closed, and I’ll build my own — then hold it open for whoever’s coming up behind me
